Diaconate Meeting Minutes

Music Director’s Report:

Joelle Morris, Christmas music -
Split door donations. Publicity in local newspapers, posters provided.Available
for reception after concert.
2. Dale Perkins Big Band – 7 pm on Feb 12.

1.
New Bibles –Chimes, bulletin, order form. Additional request in January.
2.
*Coffee Hour – Kitchen Committee:
Jan, Beth, Zoe BigleyKC provides supplies for
kitchen – sugar, tea, etc – and will oversee the committee responsible for each month. Each Committee for the
assigned month is responsible for coffee hour duties.Currently:
January – Trustees, February – Pastoral Relations, April – Stewardship, May – Nominating, November
– Church World Service, December – Diaconate. Easter Sunday is Diaconate. Sexton will clean appliances. Diaconate is responsible for providing communion
juice and bread.
3. Office buys candles for altar and most supplies
for worship. Diaconate is responsible for Advent candles.
4. Flower Committee – responsible for front
planters –Sally Howe will plant flowers in the spring.
5. Thanksgiving Evening. No Arthur. Service is
here. All set.
6. Advent and Christmasa. Trees –Peaslee will bring tree just before 12/3. Children will provide Sunday
School tree.b. Wreaths
– Linda. Hanging of Wreaths Dec 4th. Advent wreath on Nov 27. All set.c.
Crèche: indoor
– John, outdoor –Phil, Brad, Dan & Dan - Dec 3d. Date to decorate tree – Dec 3 at 9:30 am. Decorations are stored in choir
room. e. White gift service Jan 8th –
Linda, Beth, John – will meet during the month to prepare.
7. Personnel Committee – hiring and performance reviews for Church Organist
– Beth.Children’s Choir Director is Christian Ed’s responsibility. Beth will phone Tammy.
8. Bring A Friend – last Sunday of every Month.
New Business:
1.
Choir / Diaconate room not a general storage area.
2. Reception
for Joelle and Arthur’s Concert – each Deacon bring cookies. Will provide punch & coffee.
3.
Philadelphia Biblical University. 37 choir members, May 14-17 spring tour. Would like to come to Wiscasset and is
looking for host families. Deacons feel this it too large a number for us to house, but would like them to come. John will
write an article for the Chimes.
Minister’s Report:
1. Inactive Members List. Needs review by Deacons.
2. Advent Workshop. Not enough time to organize this year, but on the calendar to
start early next year. Tammy will have a tree decoration and cocoa serving for children.
